Sky 'rains tadpoles' over Japan
The sky has been raining tadpoles over a coastal region in Japan, according to reports.


Residents, officials and scientists have been baffled by the apparent downpour of tadpoles in central Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture.

Clouds of dead tadpoles appear to have fallen from the sky in a series of episodes in a number of cities in the region since the start of the month.


In one incident, a 55-year-old man who was caught in a tadpole downpour described hearing a strange sound in the parking lot of a civic centre in the city of Nanao.

Upon further exploration, he found more than 100 dead tadpoles covering the windshields of cars in an area measuring 10 square metres.

Dead tadpole downpours were also reported by local officials 48 hours later in the city of Hakusan in the same prefecture.

The raining down of small creatures such as frogs and fish is a rare meteorological phenomenon that is reported from time to time across the world.

Scientists have widely attributed the surreal raining of animals to strong winds, storms and water sprouts sucking up creatures before depositing them further inland.

However, this explanation has not satisfied meteorologists in the Ishikawa region.

Officials at Kanazawa Local Meteorological Observatory told local media that they were unsure how the tadpoles had arrived as there had been no reports of strong winds at the time.

Another scientific explanation for raining animals relates to birds carrying the small creatures before dropping them as they fly overland.

However, dismissing this theory, a researcher at the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology in Abiko told Kyodo news: "Crows eat tadpoles but if these were spat out (by the birds), a wider area should have been covered."

It may be nice to have a chat in bed but using your mobile phone at bedtime can cause insomnia. Using a mobile phone before going to bed can damage your health, according to a major study. It claims that radiation from the handset can cause insomnia and headaches as well as cutting the time spent in deep sleep.
Failing to get enough sleep can lead to depression, lack of concentration and personality changes. In teenagers and young children, lack of sleep can result in attention disorders and poor academic performance.

The research, carried out by scientists funded by handset manufacturers, will add to the health fears surrounding radiation emitted by the devices.
The results showed that using the handsets before bed causes people to take longer to reach the deeper stages of sleep and to spend less time in them.
Deep sleep is essential as it is the time when the body rejuvenates cells and repairs damage suffered during the day. Dr Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, said: "There is now more than sufficient evidence from a large number of reputable investigators who are finding that mobile phone exposure an hour before sleep adversely affects deep sleep."

In the study scientists examined the sleep patterns of 36 women and 35 men aged 18 to 45. Some were exposed to radiation that mimicked what a person receives when using a mobile phone. The others received none. The first group took longer to enter the first of the deeper stages of sleep and spent less time in the deepest one.

The scientists concluded: "The study indicates that during laboratory exposure to 884 MHz wireless signals components of sleep believed to be important for recovery from daily wear and tear are adversely affected."
The findings will shock many parents whose children routinely chat to friends on their mobiles before sleep. The study, by scientists from the Karolinska Institute and Uppsala University in Sweden and from Wayne State University in Michigan, is thought to be the most comprehensive of its kind.

The research was published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and funded by the Mobile Manufacturers Forum.
That group claimed the results were inconclusive and that scientists did not claim handsets caused sleep disturbance.
But Professor Bengt Arnetz, who led the study, said: "We did find an effect from mobile phones from exposure scenarios that were realistic. This suggests that they have measurable effects on the brain."
He believes the radiation may activate the brain's stress system, making people more alert and less able to fall asleep.

I can't believe this. I use every night my mobile phone, and I think everybody also do so. I start to think that stop using my mobile phone before sleep...

I watched Lilo and Stitch. It was a very impressive movie.
I think that family is important for us.
Japanese teenagers don't care about their family.
For example, most of them don't go back home at night and they hang out their friends.
This movie makes me consider what I have to do.

Drunk with my friends

On Friday night, I went to drunk with my friends.
There are four people, Yuka, Yuta, Hideyoshi and Maki.
We went to "NAKARE", its food and beer is so nice, we all drunk too much.
After that we went to Karaoke, and singing many songs. We all got very tired.
After Karaoke, We call another friend and go driving.
We went so many places.
Next day, we all have work, every body seemed exhaust (we all work same place).

TOEFL test

I took the TOEFL exam, because I want to study abroad. It was difficult, but I worked hard it. My friends (shota and Tomoko) also want to study abroad, so we study together when we have free time. We really work hard to study it; we all really hope to go abroad. Whenever we hang out, we always talk about foreign country.

TOEFL test is so difficult and makes me tired. I watch movies without subtitles to improve listening ability. For the reading ability, I read English news and news paper. For the writing skill, I exchange email with my friends who from all over the world.　I take English conversation and TOEFL class in my school; it is so nice to improve my skills.

Hello. My name is Tsubasa, and I’m nineteen years old. My family has four people. My father is a policeman, and my mother is a house worker and my sister is a office worker. I keep a dog named Rico.

I read this story and think this is really funny story.
This story that. There is a small boy and he had to go shopping to buy the things which his mom told him. After shopping, he go back way to home. Then he met a his friends. They are playing baseball, so he joined it. It's getting dark so he rush to back his home, but on the way he felt something grab his feet. It's monster.
He wants to run away but he can't. Then his shop bag fall down to the monster.
The soap in it, so monster became so tiny because of bubbles. Because of this he can run away.
